Campus Ministry Partners
HCU students, faculty and staff seek to grow and help others grow spiritually through a variety of campus ministries. Our Spiritual Life Department partners especially closely with the following seven ministries. Each of them holds convictions that align with the University’s; collaborates with the ministry of HCU Spiritual Life; and also provides a distinctive biblical approach to community-building, discipleship, evangelism, service, and mission that complements our work and provides diverse opportunities for mission and ministry to match the personal needs of each student.

We aim to empower students to serve, cultivate meaningful relationships, and promote continual life transformation through Jesus Christ. The Navigators
Navigators are about getting “to know Christ, make him known, and helping others do the same” within a friendly community of students and staff. We believe that Jesus Christ desires for every person to repent and believe in him and become his disciple, and are commissioned to help others become his disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). Navigators invest time with individuals and in small groups in Bible discussions, Bible studies, extended time alone with God, prayer, and evangelism. Some of the major Navigators activities are: NavNight (our weekly large group meetings on Thursdays at 5 pm in the Cullen Parlor), Extended Time Alone with God in Prayer (the first Saturday morning of each month, 9am to 12 noon), Fall retreat (the weekend of Fall Break, October 18-20), our Spring Break trip (tentatively Colorado Springs), and our Disciple Making Intensive (2 weeks in Florida, early summer of 2025). We also have a summer mission trip to Kenya. Contact derek.hee@navigators.org for more information.

Campus Outreach
In Campus Outreach, we are passionately reaching students with the gospel and training them to become mature followers of Christ. Our desire is to see students leave college equipped to labor in the harvest field for the glory of God. Contact the Campus Outreach leadership at paola.herrera@campusoutreach.org.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Ƶ is a student organization that hopes to be a community for students to grow in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world. InterVarsity’s vision is to see students, faculty and staff transformed, campuses renewed, and world changers developed. We believe we are called to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly as we grow in our faith. We do this through student-led Bible studies, worship, and service projects. Currently at HCU, InterVarsity has a creative arts ministry to explore how we can use our passion for art to serve the Lord and an Asian American ministry where we learn how our stories and cultures are a gift from God. You are more than welcome to check out our events even if you are not an arts major or an Asian American student! Contact InterVarsity@HC.edu for more information.

Ratio Christi (Apologetics & Evangelism)
Ratio Christi is Latin for the reason for Christ. We are an apologetics & evangelism mission society that equips students with the tools and skills to defend their faith and share it with others. Our chapter is a diverse, student led community of students that want to put Jesus first in all aspects of their life.. While our ministry is stationed at HCU, we also maintain a focus on the nations. By seeking to obey Christ by completing the great commission, we are launching a new initiative to reach the nations and equip the global church, reach the lost, and teach apologetics and theology throughout the world. We hope that you will join us and grow in your faith as we seek to serve Jesus together.
Tuesday Night Meeting
Join us for a meal, an interesting discussion about various topics, and fellowship. We believe that after spending a year in our meetings, you will be well educated in apologetics and evangelism.
Discipleship Meetings
Our leaders are committed to discipling you. We will find a time for a discipleship meeting that works for your schedule. Discipleship is key to our ministry.
Community Meetings
Throughout the semester we have social events either on campus or in the homes of our leaders. These events range from movie nights and outings in Galveston, to exploring the local restaurants in Chinatown and end of the semester BBQs.
Mission Trips
Our Ratio Christi Chapter is committed to missions. As a chapter, we will take at least one mission trip per year to a foreign country but there will be several mission opportunities every year for those who are adventurous.
